I realized that I may not be best suited to group rides. I relish the alone time after a long week of teaching. I'm around people all day who need me. I'm glad to give my time but when the week ends it's nice to do something that's just for me, by me and about me. In the face of the challenges on a long ride I find great satisfaction in knowing that I'm the one who has chosen the situation and that I'm able to get myself out of whatever comes up.
