Here it comes again: spring break packing. In my childhood I had tokens and trinkets galore, so many that I could have been considered a packrat. In preparation for long trips I sifted through my collections to find my most prized possessions, in the case that the house burned down, someone broke in and wanted my good luck charms, or the cat scraped through my junk boxes.
In my adulthood I've given up the packrat-ness and tend to be fairly organized. I've found, though, that when I prepare to pack to go on a trip longer than a couple of days I feel the need to clean out drawers, refold clothes, wash clothes and take only the best chapstick, hair ties and bags. Vestiges of my youth, I suppose. I'm putting off this process to watch the same news I saw earlier tonight.
